About FilmOntario
Founded in 2003, FilmOntario is a not-for-profit non-partisan industry consortium with members from all parts of the province’s screen-based industry, including unions, guilds, producers, studios, equipment suppliers, and financial and legal services companies. We advocate on behalf of the industry to all levels of government and promote Ontario as a leading production jurisdiction.
We are run by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of industry leaders from labour and private sector Member organizations, and our Managing Director, Cynthia Lynch, and funded entirely by membership fees.
In April 2018, FilmOntario was proud to sign the Canadian Creative Industries Code of Conduct.
As part of our obligations under the Code, we have developed Workplace Violence and Harassment Policies and Programs to ensure that the FilmOntario workplace is free from violence, bullying and harassment. These policies and programs also apply to all events hosted by FilmOntario.
We encourage all of our members, if you haven’t done so already, to develop your own workplace policies. The Ministry of Labour website has many resources available to assist you in doing this. It is only by working together that we can ensure that all of our workplaces are welcoming to everybody.
