Thank you to everyone who joined us on November 30 at the Shangri-la and online for another successful AGM.

It was a pleasure to see everyone and review the year’s accomplishments. Some of the highlights included tax credit changes in the 2022 Budget and Fall Economic Statement, a preview of our upcoming study on the effectiveness of the tax credits, and a review of the successful advocacy work we have carried out with our industry partners. We also released our Filming Is Good Business video, which highlights the impact of filming on local businesses across the province.

We were pleased to welcome new directors Magali Simard (Cinespace Studios) and Roman Neubacher (IATSE 667) to the Board. Thanks were given to outgoing directors Jim Mirkopoulos and David Rumley – thank you for your years of service building FilmOntario and the industry.

The Honourable Neil Lumsden, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, joined us after the break to introduce our guest speaker, the Honourable Peter Bethlenfalvy, Minister of Finance. Both Ministers spoke praised the industry for our recent successes, and committed to ongoing government support for the sector.

The work we do would not be possible without the support and enthusiasm of our members. Thank you for all you do – looking forward to another great year ahead!
