The 2018 FilmOntario Annual General Meeting, held at the Four Seasons Toronto on November 21, was another huge success.
Thank you to all the members who came to the business portion of the meeting, where we discussed the year’s accomplishments.
We were also pleased to welcome Jim Mirkopoulos, of Cinespace, to the FilmOntario Board. Thanks to Frank Siracusa, who will be leaving the Board at the end of this year. The Board also took time during the meeting to acknowledge the contributions of Jonathan Barker, who passed away in July 2018.
The Honourable Vic Fedeli, Minister of Finance, was warmly received as this year’s guest speaker. He reiterated the government’s commitment to providing stability and support for the film and TV industry, and highlighted some recent sector successes, particularly in Northern Ontario. We were also joined by Parliamentary Assistant for Tourism, Culture and Sport, Vincent Ke, MPP for Mississauga-Malton Deepak Anand, and City of Toronto Councillor Paula Fletcher.
