We need your support to keep the cameras rolling in Ontario.
FilmOntario is asking the Government of Ontario to act in this year’s Fall Economic Statement. We’ve asked for two things:
- Increase the film and television tax credit rates, from 21.5% to 25% for the Ontario Production Services Tax Credit (OPSTC) and from 35% to 40% for the Ontario Film and Television Tax Credit (OFTTC); and
- Invest an additional $26 million in the Ontario Creates IP Fund, directed toward linear content.
These changes would make Ontario more competitive, bring productions back here, and protect good jobs for the people who work in this industry across the province.
The government needs to hear directly from you: the crews, performers, creators and businesses who make Ontario’s screen industry work. All you need to do is add your name, your role and how long you’ve worked in the industry, and your letter will go to Premier Ford. The Ministers of Finance, and of Tourism, Culture and Gaming will be copied, along with your local MPP.
Visit the Keep Ontario Rolling page where you can complete a form that will email the Government of Ontario to take action, now. Please send your letter today, and share with your colleagues.
